City Groups
A family of missionary servant disciples who love communities

City Groups are groups of around 15+ people committed to putting their faith into practice together. They have a shared ‘Missional Vision’ to connect with, serve and share the gospel with people who don’t know Jesus in their networks or neighbourhoods.
What does that look like?

Who is this for?
City Groups are good news for everyone!
We are committed to helping every member of Barneys think through what joining a City Group could look like for them. Here are some resources to help you get started.

Current City Groups
— Beach Run
— Board Games
— Bouldering
For people looking for a fun way to get fit in a warm welcoming community or the bouldering initiated. The Bouldering City Group meets throughout the week at NOMAD Bouldering Gym in Annandale to share a sport and Jesus’ love with other climbers… And sometimes a cheeky BBQ too!
— Community Garden (Ashbury)
— Craft in the Park
Craft in the Park meets in Hollis Park, Newtown on the last Saturday of every month from 10am. Bring your own project to work on or you can join the group workshop on the day. Feel free to bring a picnic blanket, a plate to share and your creative friends.
— Flower Jamming
We meet to arrange flowers, meet (new) friends and share a meal after a creative session. Flower arrangement allows us to unleash our creativity and immerses us in the natural beauty created by God. We meet on a Saturday morning at church once every other month.
— Refugee Action Group
— St Barnabas Football Club
Learn more about the club at www.stbarnabasfc.com.
— Social Housing Communities
If your heart is for the vulnerable peoples in our city, then this would be a great group to join. We build relationships with the people living in social housing around Barneys and this involves afternoon picnics on the third Sunday of every month and meeting for prayer every fourth Sunday.
— Squash
Time poor but want to get fit and make friends? Barneys Squash City Group has from absolute novice to advance squash players that meet every Friday 4-5pm at the Sydney Uni Aquatic Centre Squash Courts to chat, play, and pray.
— Wentworth Park
— Yum Cha Appreciation Society
