Sunday 30th March 2023, 12.30pm
What is the ministry of Barney? Our strategy? Who looks after all of this work? How do we pay for it? What are we going to do next?
Our Annual General Meeting is coming up on Sunday 30th March. Our senior minister, Mike Paget, will present his report on our church ministry, The wardens will report on our operations and finances. We will elect a number of positions in the church governance, including the Parish Council and Wardens. There is also time for open questions and answer at the end.
This year we will present important updates on church strategy including our amalgamation of Arundel House with the Terraces, our parish and our planned building project at Catherine St. We’ll also share our plans for reaching a sustainable budget over the next few years.
If you call Barneys home, the AGM is an important part of family life. It is an opportunity to examine and approve finances, elect office bearers, hear news of Gospel ministry present and future and to ask questions. We therefore encourage everyone to attend and actively participate. This includes prayerfully considering whether you should encourage someone or even nominate yourself for one of the positions. This year we are electing Nominators, Parish Councillors and Church Wardens.
The requirements to vote at the AGM are that you are at least 18, baptised, have usually attended Barneys for 3 of the last 12 months, are not a member of another Anglican church and won’t be voting at another AGM.
Nominations, items of business and questions to be submitted via email to rebecca.spires@barneys.org.au before close of business on Tuesday 25th March.
