Peter Watson (and Margo) I was student minister there during the years 1958 - 61. Margo & I met there, she was heading up part of the Sunday School. I lived in Moore College & Margo lived with the Robinsons in the Vice Principal's house. We used to walk down to church together. We were there during the incumbencies of Rod Bowie & Bernard Gook I organised a small choir of students & nurses; we assisted at the evening service from the gallery. Ian Hulme-Moir was there too we both ran a Sunday afternoon session with boys from the Charlton Boys Home in Glebe. They were interesting days after the high profile incumbency of Howard Guinness. Numbers weren't too bad but not as high as when Howard was there. Clearly Barneys has a strong place in our affections & personal history. Peter Watson was formerly Bishop of South Sydney and Archbishop of Melbourne. |
