2010 Teaching Program

Series of the year: The King is the Issue

This is the message of Matthew: there is a King, and he has come. He has come just as God promised, God in man, Lord and baby, worshipped and vilified. He has come to save; he has come to forgive; he has come to rule; he will come to judge.

Therefore, for everyone on earth - every woman and man; mother, father, child, sibling; student, home-maker, professional, tradesperson - for everyone, there is only one issue. The King is the Issue.

This is the message of Matthew.

Hallelujah! Christmas 2010

In 1741, George Handel and Charles Jennens penned one of the most popular orchestral and choral works of all time, Messiah. So deeply inspired by the Messiah Jesus he met in the Bible, Handel's classic composition journeys through the prophecies concerning Christ, the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus, and the expectation of his return. This Christmas we'll see what lies behind the famed chorus, "Hallelujah!"

Dec 5 | Anticipation - 'And the glory of the Lord' (Isaiah 40:1-5, Luke 3:1-6)

Dec 12 | The Lord will restore - 'But who may abide?' (Malachi 3:1-5, Haggai 2:6-9)

Dec 19 | The Light enters the world - 'The people that walked in darkness' (Isaiah 9:2,60:1-3, John 1:1-18)

Dec 24 | Unto us a child is born (Isaiah 9:1-7, Luke 2:1-21)
